La Scala, between 1950 and 1961, provided Maria Callas with the cultural tools that transformed the singer into a myth, thanks also to the likes of Luchino Visconti, Nicola Benois, Tullio Serafin, Franco Zeffirelli.
On the one hand, its history has passed through its most important interpretations, on the other it is essential to underline the role of this theater as a laboratory of research and inspiration, thanks to the influences of places such as the Theater Museum, which Callas visited several times for draw inspiration from the gestures of the great performers of the early nineteenth century, such as Giuditta Pasta or actresses such as Eleonora Duse.
